That's a mouthful to say - but a great mouthful to eat! This is the ultimate fall breakfast recipe because it is warm and comforting on a grey morning, but also has the pumpkin and caramel aspect that is associated with fall. It's very easy to do, pretty much a normal french toast, just a secret surprise by slipping in a piece of dark chocolate with a caramel filling. You can use whatever chocolate you like, but I think the caramel was fun!
Serves: 1
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
1 square of dark chocolate filled with caramel
1 slice of pumpkin brioche
1 egg
⅛ cup milk
Process
Whisk egg and milk together in a bowl large enough to fit your brioche slice
With a bread knife, cut into the middle of one side of the french toast. It should be like a little pocket to put the chocolate in.
Stuff your chocolate into the brioche
Put it into the egg wash and let it sit for 1-2 minutes on each side
Cook the french toast on a buttered pan over medium-low heat. It should be around 3 minutes on each side, or until golden.
Serve hot
